Hyderabadi Haleem Recipe

Boneless Mutton - 2 kg
Chilli Powder - 1tsp
Haldi Powder - 1tsp
Bay Leaf - 1
Dal Channa - 250g
Whole Wheat - 200g
Barley - 50g
Oil as required (3-4 tsp)
salt to taste

For Garnish:
Lime Slices
Green Chilies
Fresh Coriander Leaves
Sliced Ginger


1. Soak all three grains overnight.
2. Fry the meat in oil.
3. Add all the spices and 4 to 5 glasses of water.
4. Cover and leave on low flame to tenderize until the meat is extremely soft.
5. Meanwhile, put the grains and dal in a pot with 1 tsp salt,1/2 tsp chilli powder and 1/4 tsp haldi powder.
6. Add water and cook on low flame till very soft.
7. When both are soft, mix the meat and grains together and leave on a very low flame.
8. Keep mashing and mixing.
9. It starts to boil and becomes bubbly fry a little onion in oil and add to it.
10. Remove from heat and serve with garam masala, fresh coriander leaves, green chilies, fried onion and lemon.

Milky Bar Sojee

1 egg
2 cups milk
65g butter
3/4 cup semolina
4 Tblspn klim (make a paste with milk)
elachie essence
2 Tblspn almonds
1 cup sugar
1 Tblspn fresh cream

Beat together the egg, milk, sugar, elachie essence and cream. Melt the butter in a heavy based pot, add in the milk mixture and simmer till it thickens slightly, add in the almonds, semolina and klim and mix with a wooden spoon on a low heat for about 10 minutes, Steam on low with the lid closed for another 10 minutes or alternatively put it in an ovenproof pot and steam it in the oven for about 15-20 minutes on 180 deg.

For the topping melt about 50 gram milky bar and mix in 1 Tblspn of nestle cream, pour over before serving and garnish with roasted sliced almonds.

Banana Egg Fry

Ingredients :
Big Bananas (not fully ripe) - 1/2 kg
Egg - 3 no's
Sugar - 3 tbs
Powdered Cardamom - 3 no's
Sliced Cashew nuts - 6 no's
Ghee - 1 tsp
Oil - for frying

Method of Preparation :

Steam the bananas well. Peel the skin and grind it in a mixer. If the bananas are not sweet enough, you can add some sugar while grinding.

Mix the eggs with cardamom powder, cashew nuts and half the quantity of sugar. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the egg mixture. Add the remaining sugar to it.

Make small balls of the banana mixture. Apply some oil in the hands and spread the banana balls with the fingers. Place one spoon of the fried egg mixture in it. Seal the edges and make oval shapes. Deep fry in oil.

Aloo Ka Samosa - Potato Samosa

* 3 cup Maida flour
* 3 tsp cooking oil
* 1 tsp salt
* 1/2 tsp baking soda
* 3 tbsp butter
* Water to knead dough
* 3 large potatoes boiled, peeled, and cubed
* 1 large onion finely chopped
* 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
* 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
* 2 tsp red chili powder
* 1 tsp turmeric powder
* 1/2 tsp garm masala powder
* 1/2 tsp coriander seeds crushed
* 2 tsp fresh chopped coriander leaves
* 3 chopped green chilies
* 2 tsp lemon juice
* Salt to taste
* Oil for frying


Mix the Maida flour, baking soda, and salt toghter in a bowl. Add 3 tbsp oil to flour and salt and mix it well with your hands until mixture is tender and soft. Set aside about 10 minutes. Make a ball and rub the ball with about 1/2 tsp oil and slip it into a plastic bag. Set aside 20-25 minutes.

Heat 2 tbsp oil, Add chopped onion and golden brown it. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and coriander seeds and fried until mustard seeds pops.

Add potatoes and stir, Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt, green chilies, and fresh coriander leaves.

Stir for 2-3 minutes, Add lemon juice cook another 2 minutes and keep set aside.

Make a thin 5" diam. round with some dough.Cut into two halves. Moisten it with maida water mixture. Join and press together to make a cone.

Place a tbsp. of filling in the cone and seal third side. Make five to six. Put in hot oil, deep fry on low to medium till light brown. Do not fry on high, or the samosas will turn out oily and soggy. Drain on paper towel.

Delicious Aloo ka Samosa is ready to serve. Serve hot with date tamarind chutney and tomato ketchup.

Fruit Chaat

* 2 banana (cut into small pieces)
* 2 Apple (Cut into small Pieces)
* 1 cup grapes
* 1 cup Pineapple
* 1 cup water melon
* 1 cup white chana (boiled)
* 1/2 cup pomegranate
* 1/2 cup sweet potatoes (boiled)
* 1 cup mangoes (cut into small pieces)
* 1 cup orange juice
* 1/2 cup lemon juice
* 1 tsp black pepper powder
* 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
* 1 tsp red chili powder
* 2 tsp chat masala powder
* 1/3 tsp salt
* 1/2 cup sugar syrup


In a large bowl add bananas, apple, water melon, mangoes, pineapple pieces, and black pepper powder. Mix them well.

In another large bowl add white boiled chana, boiled potatoes, pomegranate, grapes, sugar syrup, lemon juice, orange juice, chat masala, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, and salt. Mix well all ingredients and pour into banana, mangoes, water melon and apple bowl.

Mix well and chill in refrigerator for 10 t0 12 minutes.

Easy fruit chat is ready to serve. Serve with samosa and poakary.

Yogurt Milkshake - Lassi

Yogurt Milkshake - Lassi

* 1 cup fresh yogurt
* 1 glass Milk
* 1 cup fresh cream
* 1/3 tsp salt
* 3 tbsp sugar
* 1 cup ice cubes


In a grinder, add fresh yogurt, milk, fresh cream, salt, sugar and ice cubes and grind it.

Grind till all ingredients is mix well.

Now pour yogurt milkshake in tall glasses.

Tasty Summer yogurt milkshake is ready to serve.

Yogurt milkshake can be garnished by fresh cream and served with straw.
